The Bundeswehr has signed a € 760 million contract with KMW and Rheinmetall in May 2017 for the upgrading of one hundred and four (104) Leopard 2s of different versions in Leopard 2A7. Of the one hundred and four tanks, sixty-eight (68) will be upgraded from the Leopard 2A4 version, sixteen (16) from the Leopard 2A6 version and twenty (20) from the Leopard 2A7.

On March 28, 2019, KMW received a second contract of more than 300 million euros for the modernization of one hundred tanks. Fifty-one Leopard 2A6 and fifty Leopard 2A6M2 will be worn to the Leopard 2A7V version. The delivery of the modernized tanks will be staggered until 2026. The total tanks of the German army will be increased from two hundred and twenty-five to three hundred and twenty-nine pieces.

Denmark has ordered in 2017 the modernization of forty-four (44) Leopard 2A5DK Leopard 2A7 version, officially named in the Danish army Leopard 2A7M + DK. The modernization will be carried out between 2019 and 2022.

The US Navy made the baptism of the SNA, Nuclear Assault Submarine, SSN 793 Oregon class Virginia.
